Athens and Electronic Resources

An NHS Athens account will allow you to access a whole variety of quality electronic resources and additionally, locally purchased resources specific to Mental Health. To self-register for an Athens, click here.
After you complete the online form, you will receive an email. You can then choose a password an activate your account. If you have any queries regarding Athens, please contact your Athens administrator, Rosalind McNally on 0161 276 3308 by email

What You Can Access with an Athens Account

Electronic journals.
The collection includes access to the Psychology and Behavioural Sciences Collection - the world's largest psychology journals database and to the collection of journals provided by PsychARTICLES

If you would like to receive by email, the Electronic Tables of Contents (ETOCS) of any journal, please click here.

Healthcare databases.
Access databases such as PsycINFO, Medline, EMBASE and CINAHL.

Electronic books.
Access the full-text of over 150 e-books. The easiest way to search is by keyword or using the A-Z title list.

CASH (Current Awareness Service for Health)

CASH aims to keep health professionals up-to-date with new developments for the benefit of patient care and improved decision making. It is a collaborative service provided by librarians from around England who monitor and capture content from across 3 broad sectors - Primary Care, Secondary Care and Mental Health.
